You're too critical of yourself. The figure on the left has no need for more definition or lightening. Sometimes you don't need to see something to know it's there. As the story goes, during the filming of the movie "Bus Stop", the crew was setting up for a close-up of Don Murray when the cameraman remarked that he was losing the top of Murray's head. A lot of discussion ensued until the film's central star, Marilyn Monroe, settled it once and for all by saying, "Why do we need to see the top of his head? It's already been established." Your picture is a study in grays and blacks of forward (downward) movement set against the immovability of the surrounding architecture, and it's good. So shut up ;-)

I have to agree with some of the other comments, this a good grapic shot and the elements you mention don't bother me at all, I think it all works really well. I'm my own worst critic so I understand however I might delete RAW files that I don't like but once I've processed something I keep it as it serves as a reminder of what not to do next time!
